As we all climb into darkness and void
Reaching out for the volatile and cold

As we deny what we are made of, and deny our call
Hunting restless for gain we cannot hold

Do You forget us forever and ever
And forsake us so long in Your grief and despair?
Turn Thou us unto Thee, and we shall be turned
Renew our days as of old

As we open our hearts to the carnal world
Shedding blood of ourselves and our kin

As we follow the whore and give grace to her
Feeding blood of the martyrs and saints

You who are the Morning Star
Renew the spirit, renew the strength

The joy of our heart has ceased
Our dance has turned into mourning
For this, our heart is faint
For these things, our eyes are dim
